I am sitting comfortably on my desk this Monday afternoon sipping on some earl grey and sifting through this work. Despite being subject to torrential showers this weekend (all part and parcel of the Great British summer), I had a very pleasant weekend, and I hope you did to!
My initial plan for Saturday was to find a jazzy dance/electro place for Saturday night for me and the girls to throw some shapes; however, due to the weather and our apparent appetite we decided to go for an Italian at Vapiano’s in Great Portland Street (just off Oxford Circus). It was my first time at Vapiano’s and I loved it.
Vapiano’s was a hybrid of Wahaca in Convent Garden and the IKEA restaurant. On entry we were given a card with a spending limit of £50, and after selecting what to eat, we made our way to the kitchen counter where our meals were made in front of us. I liked being able to tell the Chef to hold out on the salt and be more generous with the chilli. The food was fresh & flavoursome. We went on to order desert, cocktails, coffees and teas (a thirsty bunch we were), and somehow the bill remained below £30, so I was very impressed and would definitely revisit and recommend Vapiano’s.
Next on my food hit list…Chilango’s in Convent Garden
