“The Korea Hair Show in Seoul is a showcase for the most out-there developments in contemporary hairstyling. They’re unlikely to inspire many copycat styles – unless your name is Lady Gaga. For your delectation, here is a selection of some of the craziest Korean cuts.” Laura Barnett- The Guardian

Thank God for the freakin weekend y’all ;-) #FF to all the great blogs out there sharing all the fantastic images, stories, videos, music and culture that just struggle to break into the mainstream. Today I am saying thanks to Illume the ‘afropolitan collective’ and ‘purveyors of awesome’, I love this video of Kenyan group ‘Just a band’. They are indeed the future of contemporary East African music; there is something very Andre3000 meets Cee Lo. Love it.
Emma Elwick-Bates give a lesson in color-blocking in our video for Online Fashion. My favourite style was the pastle combination, with the bright shoes and eccentric necklace. What’s yours?

My favourite for STYLE
As perfectly described by fashion editor Simon Chilvers it’s ”Classic Chanel with jewels on”
My favourite for MAKEUP
What I love as much as the outfit was the wide smokey eye
My favourite for HAIR
I battled over whether this was my favourite for style, as I adore this dress. Not so keen on the colour but the fit, texture and style is adorable, and I could certainly see myself wearing it. What I love almost as much as the dress, bag and necklace was this hair style. None of the other styles moved me, but I thought the pulled back and coiled composition looked both elegant and rebellious. Definitely a winner.
It never ceases to amuse me when people use the word ‘chic’ after a word, how it automatically becomes fashion friendly.
Anyways, love these techno trend accessories by Go Pantone’s Freestyle blog. CTRL the Ring v.s Watch the Game
As many of you know, I had my big chop in May, and since October I have decided to let my TWA (teeny weeny afro) grow. My hair length is about 3.5 inches now, which is good, but not yet at that styling length. Hopefully by January/February I should be getting my clips and pins out. At the moment I am not using a lot of gel or alcohol based products, because I am using Live Colour XXL to dye my hair, and therefore ultimately trying to avoid any further product damage.
To shampoo I use Elvive colour protect, and then apply the Elvive protective masque for 15 mins and then rise. I use a mixture of virgin olive oil or carrot oil along with Organic Root Stimulator’s olive oil moisteriser, I am at that great stage when its short enough to wash n go.
Me in early October, TWA length was about 2.5 inches.
So between now and January I will be posting some of my favourite natural hair TWA tutorials, just to get me in the styling mood. I will be uploading more recent pictures natural hair journey so far this week!
The first on my YouTube playlist is Styling Short Natural Hair: Quick and Easy TWA Style with @NaturalChica. Enjoy
Old news old news I know!I have been actually meaning to blog this for a while now, but you know how life goes! #BetterLateThanNever
British fashion sensation Vivienne Westwood started designing products as part of Ethical Fashion Africa, which offers Nairobi’s poor a better life. Earlier this year I showed off what was her latest handbag collection at the time (click here to see post). This time I bring to you some stunning photo’s of her in Kenya, inspiring upcoming and existing designers to go ethical.
